Through The Looking Glass

A personal way into street photography

For a long time, street photography felt like a space I couldn’t enter. I’ve always been an observer by nature—more comfortable at a quiet distance than in the center of things. When I picked up my camera for these images, glass became both my shield and my doorway. It gave me permission to witness life unfolding—intimate, fleeting, unposed—without stepping over my own boundaries.

These photographs are, in a way, conversations. They are moments where I remained unseen, yet deeply connected. The glass was a gentle boundary, helping me step into street photography at my own pace. With each shot, I learned to balance my introversion with my growing confidence—finding that I could be part of a world, even if just through reflections.

This series isn’t just about those on the other side of the glass. It’s about how I found my way closer—one pane at a time. In these images, I see my own journey: from hesitation to engagement, from separation to connection.
