July 14 Program Zoom Recording

Recording of the presentation from Butch Mazzuca titled “What You Need to Know Before Your African Safari” given to the Focus Camera Club on July 14, 2021.

Program Description

In this presentation he will cover everything about photo safaris in Africa he wished he had known before he traveled there for the first time. He’ll discuss choosing camps & accommodations, packing tips & hints, mode of travel, i.e., individually or with a group, the best safari locations for photography, the pros and cons of national parks versus private concessions, what to expect on a typical day on safari and most importantly, the questions you should ask your travel agent BEFORE you go.

Butch bought his first camera in 2008 when his wife suggested they travel to Africa; and that’s when the photo bug bit him. Butch considers himself a generalist, although he tells everyone that photographing African wildlife was the most exciting and enjoyable photography he’s ever done.
