May 2023 Mentoring Meeting
May 31 @ 5:30 PM - 9:00 PM
Focus Mentoring Meeting
Wednesday, May 31 @ 5:30 p.m. Mark your Calendar; Save the Date.
Please join with fellow Focus Members for an ‘Open Group’ club outing to photograph ‘Water’ {In Motion} and few other unique Denver landmarks. A great opportunity to shoot alongside your Focus Club friends & peers. Both new and existing Club Members are welcome. You may even capture that perfect image for our Clubs upcoming Competitions in 2023. {Specifically, June: ‘Monochrome’, August: ‘Blue Hour/Golden Hour’, September: ‘Open’ & October: ‘In Motion’.}
When: Sunset on 5/31/2023 will be at 8:20 p.m.; so lots of time for us to explore Monochrome, Golden Hour & In-Motion image possibilities.
Where: REI Flagship Store {Downtown Denver} / Address: 1416 Platte Street, Denver 80202.
Details: The REI store backs up to the South Platte River at the confluence of Cherry Creek. We’ll meet up on the west bank of the South Platte, directly behind {east end of) the REI building at 5:30 PM. From there we can wander in any direction. There’s easy access to cross the South Platte river just upstream via the S. Platte River Trail Pedestrian Bridge. Confluence Park is just on the other {east} side.
Parking: There is metered parking on 15th Street & also on Platte Street. There is Paid Parking available at REI’s West Lot on Platte Street and the REI store’s Customer Parking – South Lot. The REI store & lots will close at 9:00 PM, so be aware of that if you park in their lots.
If ‘Water’ isn’t your thing, come anyway. The Highland Pedestrian Bridge crosses I-25 just 2 blocks from REI. Plenty of “watering holes” in that bustling neighborhood. Don’t forget Little Man Ice Cream is also right there in The Highlands district.
