Focus Program Meeting – Presentation by Jeffrey Stoner on Infrared, The Invisible Light

NOTE: This will be a Hybrid meeting; we’ll gather at Lone Tree Civic Center AND have members attending via Zoom. Masks are optional at Lone Tree. Zoom details will be emailed to current club members at least one day prior to the meeting.

Infrared photography allows us to see into a world illuminated by infrared light, which our eyes cannot normally see. An infrared image may reveal a world only subtly different, or one of other-worldly colors and textures. Jeffrey’s program covers the history of infrared photography and how it can be used today. He shows infrared photographs that would be difficult to replicate in any other way. Attend the program, and see if this is a photographic tool that you want in your tool chest.

Jeffrey is especially known for his Goats of Roan and Steam Locomotive images, and his images have been featured in international, national, and regional publications. His latest book, Taproots of Tennessee (2019, the University of Tennessee Press) illustrates stories about the Tennessee state-owned historic sites.
