Focus Program Meeting – Presentation by Kevin Holliday on ‘Long Exposure’
This March, the FCC competition theme will be “Long Exposure” so we will provide some advance exposure to this subject in our February Program. Join FCC member and internationally recognized and awarded fine art B&W photographer, Kevin Holliday, as he leads us into his world of Long Exposure Photography.
Kevin will open up some doorways and shine light upon a type of image capture of which many are simply unaware. While the technique may seem complex at first, Kevin’s presentation will simplify the process and have you walking away thinking differently not only about long exposure capture itself, but also how light is interacting with your camera in the first place. However, this presentation is about more than just long exposure photography; it’s about the process of CREATING a fine art image, rather than producing a representational photograph. In other words, this presentation is how long exposure photography is simply ONE of the many ways to fulfill a VISION!
While Kevin has been shooting since the age of 15, he has also had an occupational background as a graphic designer for the last 17 years. This becomes apparent in much of his imagery, photographic processing, and overall mentality. His work features a strong vision within primary imagery, but is often best represented within a series of work rather than the single image.
Join this FCC presentation in February for an eye-opening experience into the world of “Long Exposure Photography – A Realization to a Vision”.
