A recording of the presentation from Jeff Tidwell titled “Street Photography” given to the Focus Camera Club on August 14, 2024.
Program Description
Jeff Tidwell is a Denver-based street photographer with an eye for the unexpected and a passion for the human story. You can find him wandering the streets of Denver capturing the city’s pulse through candid moments and fleeting interactions. His photographs offer a glimpse into the soul of Denver, showcasing the diversity, energy, and resilience of its people and places.
Influenced by the works of Saul Leiter, Ernst Haas, Daidō Moriyama, and Anders Petersen, Jeff’s style is characterized by stark black and white and sometimes color, the use of windows and reflections, and intimate street portraits. His photographs are not merely snapshots of a moment in time, but rather reflections on the human experience, inviting viewers to pause, observe, and connect with the stories unfolding within the frame.
Jeff shares his 12-year street photography journey and how he keeps the “Fun” in photography!
