2025 Photographer of the Year
f8 Competition Group
Congratulations to Stuart Liddle for his achievement this year. The excellent images he submitted in our monthly competitions, and the high scores they achieved, has resulted in this club honor. We can’t wait to see what you do next year!

Stuart Liddle
My interest in photography started when I was a kid growing up in Seattle. My father had a darkroom in the basement of our house. He had plumbed in a large wooden sink for the different chemical trays used in the development process. The room was small and oddly shaped, but it had everything he needed for developing black and white film and prints. I was fascinated by the way the images on the paper would suddenly appear out of nowhere just by putting that paper into the chemical bath.
I started out with an Instamatic camera and eventually got a 35mm film SLR and I now have a digital mirrorless camera. I did a lot of street photography when I lived in southern California going to downtown Los Angeles, Malibu, and Venice beach. I love to travel and take photos on every trip. I enjoy all genres of photography including experimenting with the Pep Ventosa method.
I feel fortunate that I have found the Focus Camera Club and thoroughly enjoy the monthly presentations and learning from others in the club while on photo walks.
