Focus Program Meeting – Presentation by Lee Urmy on Noise Reduction
Digital Noise is a real pain in the pixels! But it’s something we digital photographers have to deal with from time to time.
Whether it’s from a small sensor (you phone or P&S camera), high ISO, or underexposure, it IS something modern software can help us manage. You may not be able to totally get rid of it, but you can make it much less noticeable.
Lee will teach you about the 2 types of noise (did you know there were 2?) and lead you through using tools like Adobe Camera Raw, PS, Lightroom, Nik Dfine and other methods to help you combat noise and artifacts in your images.
Come learn from this Program and you’ll be happy to submit your high ISO images to competitions.
I purchased my first camera, a Minolta SRT-101 and a 50mm lens, in 1969. This was the start of my love of photography, which continues to this day. Through the clubs I belonged to I met a number of people who encouraged me to advance my abilities to grow and expand my photography experience.
Over the years I have been a wedding photographer, have had images published in some national nature and agriculture magazines, and even got some photos in National Geographic for a green belt project I worked on.
I have Lightroom, but I still rely on Photoshop for 97% of my photographic manipulations because of the layers are so valuable in my work. And I have all the Nik and Topaz products, plus many others. I find photography a great way to express what I care for and try to preserve for my myself and family.
